Business Challenge:

Stockport Homes are an Arm's Length Management Organisation (ALMO), managing over 12,000 properties for Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council. The Group have delegated powers to take civil action, and this work is carried out by a Safer Neighbourhoods Team of 18 people. They are an independent provider of CCTV and Noise Management systems to Stockport and other Local Authorities and Housing Associations across the North West.

Due to the wide area covered by the Team, they have to manage a large number of cases, and travel between locations to deploy, recover and support systems which are in situ for set periods of time.  Within the team 2 operatives are responsible for these deployments, including installation, accessing footage, managing downloads in accordance with GDPR and providing detailed reports on their findings in statement format used for Court cases. Traditional on-premise or systems that cannot be remotely accessed add to time on the road, and less efficient use of the operatives time and evidence gathering.

 

Our Solution:

Based on the known use case, we worked with the Stockport Homes team to design a flexible cloud managed solution which enable swift deployment to sites, real time remote system management and download capability in compliant approved formats for case reporting, and centralised multi-site monitoring.

The system was to be used for anti-social behaviour use cases at complex locations with a need for remote footage access, instant shared links, controlled searches, and re-deployable capabilities.

We introduced a true cloud CCTV solution, utilising existing Stockport camera assets integrated to cloud devices connected to a local with a corporate 4G sim card to provide for high bandwidth connection to the cloud video management solution for secure data transfer and full resolution CCTV footage as a true stand-alone solution. Each CCTV camera accesses the VMS platform via a software license key which is renewed on an annual basis whilst the CCTV footage is stored for 30 days in the cloud.

Ajar carried out the off-site configuration of each site deployable system, enabling the Stockport Homes team to attend sites as and when required to install and manage the case.

Stockport Homes currently have 17 cloud CCTV systems for continual deployment for ASB management.
